From the airport, cars head south on the road that skirts the Puntacana Resort and reach Cap Cana's main gate. The route skips central Bávaro and Friusa, so rush hour barely matters: it is the most predictable run from the airport.
At the gate, security asks for the guest's or hotel's name. With a hotel-arranged transfer this takes seconds; with an app car it can take longer, and some travelers report being asked to confirm the booking by phone. Inside, wide, well-kept avenues lead to the marina, Juanillo and the beach hotels.
There are no shops along the way: open land, resort fences and then golf scenery. If you want a supermarket stop, ask the driver for one near the airport or in Bávaro before you enter.
